Introducing Merino/Poly Blend for Retreat-Style Yoga Line

Ibex is proud to partner with the Society for Natural Resource Extraction (SNRE) for our latest top-of-the-line fabric: an 18.5-micron Merino and 100% extra virgin, oil-based polypropylene blend. The proprietary fabric, exclusive to Ibex, will be the centerpiece of our new Yoga Retreat Line, called Downward Dog for the Upwardly Mobile (DUM).

The hallmark of the DUM line is the extra wide weave of the Merino/virgin oil blend, which looks and feels like the wearer is nearly without clothes. With naked yoga consistently wracking up the greatest number of hits on seriously yogi-licious sites, like Elephant Journal, and most yoga retreats occurring in tropical climates, Ibex is filling the need for yoga apparel that isn’t constrained by the traditional definition of “clothes.”

Never afraid to push the limits of design and fabric technology, Ibex is taking the wide weave, four-way stretch to regions other yoga manufacturers have only accidentally stepped into.

Yoginis can expect a slightly lower quality than they usually expect from their Merino gear. The 3% Merino will add a modicum of temperature regulation and odor-resistance, benefits that have been shown to be completely counteracted by the 97% virgin oil polypro. The good news is that extra compression offered by the polypro means you can arrive at your tropical retreat with the look of a well-toned booty… without ever having needed to take a previous class! Genius.

The branded DUM line will be available online soon (non-returnable, non-transferable), exclusively at www.shop.ibex.com/DUM. The collection includes: sheer yoga pants, sheer hot pants, three styles of sheer camisoles with built-in bras, a sheer ballet-inspired wrap top and a limited edition, sheer DUM sarong.

An embroidered Merino ram’s head with be prominently displayed on every DUM piece to proudly show off how your apparel choice reflects your dedication to your retreat practice.

Buy one of each; add a toothbrush, a dog-eared copy of Rumi, and voilà: you’re packed and ready for your latest yoga adventure.

Namasté.

P.S. We love us and love us some yoga. But how yogi are we if we can’t laugh at the silliness of it all? Happy April Fool’s Day.
